Karen been with A&L Smash Repairs for over 7 years, two of those years she has been a co-director of the company. Along with her family, she immigrated to Australia in 2009 from South Africa. There, she ran her own Detailing business alongside the family Mechanical Workshop for 5 years. Prior to that she worked in the banking industry for 16 years. Karen has undergone training in customer service, marketing, conflict management and human resources which she uses today to keep the business running smoothly and effectively. At A&L she is responsible for finances and operations (including safety, training, human resources, marketing and administration management). It gives her great pleasure to know that her business is able to deliver a product that is repaired to industry standards and seeing staff happy at work taking pride in what they do. Fun Fact: Karen is a musician and has played the piano since she was four years of age.
Trade-Qualified Panel beater
Peter has worked at A&L for over 25 years. He is an I-CAR Platinum Individual, having completed many courses with I-CAR to further his knowledge and broaden his skills. He explains that it is his responsibility as a Panel Beater to “maintain a high level of workmanship whilst complying with owner/insurance, company/government and employer directives”. Peter loves working with car and always has. Fun Fact: Peter enjoys puzzles in his spare time.

Trevor is an I-CAR Platinum Individual and has worked at A&L for many years. He has experience dismantling cars at a wrecking business and spent 4 years at another panel shop stripping down and fitting up cars. Trevor acknowledges that it is his responsibility to follow rules and regulations set by insurance companies, Workplace Health and Safety, vehicle manufacturers and management at A&L. He also recognizes the importance of always reading worksheets provided when repairing a vehicle. Fun Fact: Trevor is a prankster/joker and has many talents, too many to list.
Trade-Qualified Spray Painter
David is an I-CAR Platinum Individual. He has been a part of the A&L team for 1 year and has been working at panel shops for most of his working life. He is responsible for managing the paint shop and ensuring that vehicles are painted and jobs are completed on time. He enjoys everything about his job. Fun Fact: David won the A&L Top Gun Quiz in 2016
Operations Officer/Marketing Manager
In May 2015 Jemma began working at A&L Smash Repairs. Prior to A&L she completed a Certificate III in Business, Certificate II in Workplace Practices and has 5+ years experience in customer service roles. She has a current First Aid & CRP Certificate and is A&L’s First Aid Officer. Some of Jemma’s responsibilities include liaison with customers and insurance companies, payroll and digital marketing. Her favourite aspect of her position is returning much-loved vehicles to happy customers. Fun Fact: Jemma is a supporter of pineapple on pizza.
At the end on 2015 Dalene became part of the A&L family. In South Africa she worked a newspaper company and an engineering business where she developed valuable skills which she uses today at the office. Dalene is responsible for ordering parts, sending quotes to customers and insurance companies and accounts management. She enjoys the fast-paced and busy environment at A&L Smash Repairs. Fun Fact: Dalene enjoys (at least) 3 sugars in her coffee. This may be the cause of her sweet personality.
